About the role

We’re looking for an ambitious and commercially driven individual to lead our Senior Sales Team as a Sales Development Manager, where you will play a key role in growing the club’s partnership and sponsorship portfolio. You\’ll identify new business opportunities, build meaningful relationships, and deliver high-value partnerships that align with the club’s values and vision.

 

You will ensure that an individual and departmental Continuous Professional Development programme is in place for all staff while acting as a role model for our values and valued behaviours and leading your team to do the same. You will appropriately challenge behaviours that do not align to our values and develop and implement strategic sales plans to expand the customer base, develop pipelines and ensure strong market presence.

 

Your impact

The ideal candidate will have a proven track record of sales success, strong leadership skills, and the ability to motivate a team to meet and exceed sales targets. The Sales Manager will be responsible for overseeing daily sales activities, reporting, training and mentoring staff, and establishing key client relationships to grow revenue.

 

You’ll be confident in identifying and pursuing new leads, presenting compelling commercial proposals, and closing deals that add value to both the club and its partners. Your creativity, strategic thinking, and passion for football will be vital in helping us grow our commercial reach on a regional, national, and global scale.

 

About the team

You will work as part of a dynamic and forward-thinking wider hospitality sales and events team that is responsible for delivering sustainable growth through partnerships, sponsorships, hospitality, and brand collaborations. Working closely with colleagues across marketing, operations and events, you’ll be at the heart of bringing commercial opportunities to life at St. James’ Park and beyond.

 

Location

This role is based in Newcastle upon Tyne, with an expectation of working 3 days per week from the office. Please note, if you are not located in the Northeast and unable to relocate, we regret that we will not be able to progress your application.
