About us:

The Counselling & Mental Health Support Service at King’s College London provides specialist, coordinated mental health support for our diverse student population. We are a key part of the university’s wider wellbeing and safeguarding structures, working collaboratively across departments and services to ensure students receive timely, effective care.

About the role:

We are looking for an experienced mental health practitioner with a current professional registration to be part of the Mental Health Support Team and part of our university’s multi-disciplinary Counselling & Mental Health Support Team.
 
​The post-holder will be part of the Student of Concern ‘SOC’ Mental Health pathway and will play a key role in decision-making in relation to student risk as well as delivering and improving the Mental Health Advice service. The post-holder will possess significant specialist knowledge and experience in the field of student mental health, including the assessment and management of risk, mental health assessment, crisis management, and external referral of cases (into external crisis services, etc.), as well as staff support. The post-holder will liaise with a wide range of internal and external stakeholders to ensure the university responds effectively to the mental health needs of students. They will work closely with the other two sub-teams that make up the Counselling & Mental Health Support Team (the Counselling and the Outreach & Training Sub-Teams) to ensure the appropriate referral of cases and an effective multi-disciplinary approach to all aspects of clinical work. ​
 
We are hiring for x2 full time posts, as well as a part time post (80% FTE). You will be offered an indefinite contract.
 
Please note that for the part time position, the salary displayed on this advert will be amended accordingly (pro rata).
