Oral Health Inspector

Grade B – £39,784 (National) or £45,456 (London – for London office based or home-based workers within the boundary of the M25) – There is also an additional homeworking allowance of £581 per annum for those working from home. Please note for part time roles – this will be pro rata.
Contracted Hours: Full time 37 hours per week or talk to us about compressed hours.

As an Inspector – Oral Health (Dental) you will be part of a vibrant national team, you’ll enjoy a varied, challenging remit. In the last year you might have:

  • Assessed and regulated an allocated portfolio of primary care dental practices across the region to make sure they are safe, effective, responsive, caring and well led.
  • Effectively planned all inspections using Key Lines of Enquiry.

The role
You’ll be key in helping us deliver our work. In this role, you’ll:

  • Hold a portfolio of oral health services and will be responsible for assessing, monitoring and dealing with any concerns regarding the services.
  • Complete inspection/monitoring programme, taking enforcement action as required and to attend all relevant oral health meetings.
  • Gather evidence and work with Specialist Dental Advisors and Partners/Stakeholders to reach a shared judgement on the quality of services being provided.

We’ll be looking for the following skills, knowledge and experience in your application form:

  • Experience of using analytical information and robust evidence to inform decisions against a risk-based methodology and evidence gathering and synthesis
  • Experience of operating in a professional autonomous and risk-based decision making environment
