About the role
Oversee all the activities within the blending department. They monitor the efficacy of the department, improve operating processes, and report to upper management. Operations supervisors work in a variety of settings while maintaining a high level of product quality while ensuring adherence to plant SOP’s, GMP’s and plant safety requirements. Strict adherence to HACCP (Hazard Analysis and Critical Control Points), Food Safety, and Food Defense are mandatory.
Schedule:
Sunday – Thursday; 8:45 PM – 5:00 AM
Your responsibilities
Effectively manages production area to meet all operational goals in the areas of safety, quality, productivity, etc.
Come to work at least a half hour early and stay half an hour late
Certified to operate a forklift
Requires valid driver’s license
Ensure that all documentation is GDP (Good Documenting Practices) compliant, correct and handed in
Daily verification of timecards for all employees as well as signed off at the end of each week
Works with team to identify and resolve issues to enhance employee safety and GMP (Good Manufacturing Practice) compliance.
Develops team and builds an effective operating culture by utilizing our performance management process that sets expectations, ensures on-going coaching, and assesses an employees' performance.
Understands the production standards for the production area and is accountable for managing the production area during shifts to ensure objectives are met.
Implements and utilizes solutions and technologies in support of improved safety, quality and continuous improvement and optimization of manufacturing processes.
Provides technical leadership within operation to resolve and/or troubleshoot production issues.
Ability to communicate issues, goals, and objectives effectively and manage competing requests in a complex, changing environment.
KPI tracking responsibility for reporting team metrics.
Managing employee schedules and timekeeping: inputting hours accurately and efficiently
Work collaboratively with a team
Willingness to participate in ongoing training or cross training
Ensures accurate and timely completion and review of production records.
Utilizing downtime for Safety (personal and food), as well as Quality efforts when applicable
Ability to work flexible hours including overtime, weekends, and holidays as needed
The experience we're looking for
Previous experience as an operations supervisor or similar role
Hands-on experience implementing operational processes
Excellent project management skills
Knowledge of operational principles and policies
Organizational skills and attention to detail
Team leadership
A detail-oriented and reliable approach, with the drive to take the initiative and achieve high-quality results.
Experience working within an FDA regulated environment preferred.
Basic computer skills required (i.e., Windows, SAP, WINS).
Previous experience with computerized inventory systems a plus.
Experience leading a production team in a complex, changing environment to deliver results to the organization.
Experience working on a cross functional team within a broader organization preferred.
Education / Experience
Minimum of 5 years of experience in a manufacturing environment with some leadership experience necessary and/or four-year degree, preferably in a business or technical field.
