UK Copyright Manager – London, N1C 4AG, United Kingdom
This is a key position in our UK Copyright team reporting to the Senior Manager, UK Copyright and Customer Services. This newly elevated role will work alongside a team of copyright experts with joint focus on the implementation of songwriters’ publishing agreements and repertoire.
We are searching for a natural communicator who is comfortable liaising with internal stakeholders and clients and their representatives.
Responsibilities will include the senior aspects of copyright administration such as advising on and planning for new deal implementation strategies, the interpretation and dissemination of contractual terms into our system, including implementing royalty rates and monitoring contractual terms to ensure collections are maximised and correctly remunerated to clients. The role will quality assure that repertoire within an agreement is accurately ingested so that it can be disseminated and registered by our Global Copyright team.
The position is rich in opportunity for involvement with the company’s biggest admin deals, front line signings, and international projects.
How You’ll Create:

Implementation of agreements and their relevant terms to the UMPG database plus tracking their lifecycles as terms evolve.

Ensure the accurate ingestion of works data.

Liaise with Business Affairs and A&R departments to ensure the accuracy of relevant contractual and client information.

Communicate with clients to ensure that song deliveries and their corresponding metadata is complete and implemented and registered in a timely fashion.

Collaborate on reviews of internal copyright processes to provide best in class service to UMPG clients.

Provide regular updates to internal stakeholders on key clients.

Participate in the delivery of our compliance control environment.

Build strong relationships with our US-based Global Copyright team and our local offices internationally.

Maintain UMPG copyright policies and procedural documentation.

Attending to copyright queries raised by clients, affiliates, 3rd Parties and collection societies, which will involve analysing music publishing agreements and historical source documents.

You will have a minimum of 4 years of related work experience in a music publishing copyright role.

An understanding of publishing contracts and copyright administration.

Excellent written and verbal communication skills are required.

Experience using Microsoft Excel, Mail and Word.

Understanding of music publishing income streams including collective management organisations, Performing Rights Organisations and Digital Service Providers.

Strong organization skills, critical thinking, analytical abilities, and attention to detail are required.

Ability to meet deadlines quickly and accurately while managing competing priorities is required.
