Hours of work: 7.45am – 8.45am, 5 days per week, plus 1 hour per week for shopping, 6 hours total, Term-time only, 38 weeks per year

Lacock CE Primary School is a small village school set in the beautiful National Trust village of Lacock. All about the role:
Due to growing demand for Wraparound Care, we are looking to recruit an organised, responsible, creative and enthusiastic individual to join our team on a part-time basis. The successful candidate will undertake the care of individuals or groups of children and support their play, learning and development during the before-school part (Breakfast Club) of the Wraparound Care and will stimulate, encourage and develop children’s play in a positive way enabling them to play appropriately and creatively, individually or in groups. This role will include maintaining a strong relationship we have with the children, being approachable to our parents and above all provide a safe, caring, stimulating and fun environment for the children in Breakfast Club.
We will offer the following to any successful candidate:
- Permanent contract for 6 hours per week (Mon-Fri) and possibility to increase hours if desired.
- 38 weeks per year, term-time only
- £13.47 per hour
- Training (such as, and if necessary, Paediatric and emergency first aid, Epipen and Buccal Midazolam training, SEN and Makaton training, Manual Handling and Team Teach courses as well as IT/Admin training so staff can operate the booking system), equipment and resources provided
- Free child-care place for your child (for children aged 4-11 regardless of their current setting)
Roles/Responsibilities:
- To assist the Breakfast Club session and manage the safety, welfare and supervision of children through both indoor and outdoor (in summer) activities
- Helping with planning, preparing and delivering quality play opportunities within a safe and caring environment (such as arts & crafts, puzzles and games) as well as supervising reading and other activities if applicable
- Providing food and refreshments (such as cereal, toast, pancakes, waffles, milk, water, fruit etc)
- Administering first aid where necessary
- Developing and maintaining good communication with all children and parents, as well as all other staff
- To help with Breakfast Club bookings using our booking system, and to liase with parents and Office staff regarding payments
We are keen to hear from individuals who are patient, calm, organised and adaptable. Being able to have a positive outlook, sense of humour and can-do attitude is essential. Experience of supporting learners with a variety of learning needs would be an advantage but not essential.
