This is an exciting time for a talented, self-driven professional to join us in the role of Project Manager within the Street Lighting service as we take forward Gloucestershire’s 2050 Vision. Wea re leading the way in challenging conventions around the reallocation of road space, creating walkable neighbourhoods and delivering green infrastructure with low carbon design.
Our street lighting team are at the heart of this work, ensuring that street lighting improvements on our highway infrastructure are delivered in a sustainable manner that contribute to our ambitious carbon reduction goals
About the role
This is a pivotal role where you will be responsible for the project management and overseeing of the design for new electrical and street lighting infrastructure associated with the council’s major highway improvements programme. You will provide strong technical support and advice to our internal highway teams and professional services partner, ensuring delivery of our strategic outcomes for Gloucestershire.
As the Project Manager, you will be the lead GCC officer for new street lighting and electrical designs for all types of highway improvement projects within Gloucestershire. You will oversee the development of new street lighting and electrical designs prepared by our professional services consultant and manage the construction elements of electrical and street lighting works.
This role also involves representing GCC in stakeholder meetings and public forums, requiring excellent communication and political awareness.
About you
You will have a wealth of street lighting experience especially in electrical and street lighting design. You will play a key role in liaison between the council’s highway Project Managers and our professional services consultant responsible for design works, ensuring that all new electrical and street lighting designs/works meet with recommended standards, professional best practices and internal specification and policy.
