ER Specialist 12 Month FTC – Pontypridd, South Wales
Salary: Up to £50,000
Basis: Full time
Role responsibilities
To support, manage and advise case management such as absence, grievances and disciplinary. Where necessary will lead, support, coach and advise the business on complex HR cases up to and including any formal proceedings including complex investigations, hearings and appeals and any potential ACAS and/or ET cases as a result.
Responsibilities include but are not limited to the following:
- Manage end-to-end and timely closure of employee relations cases (disciplinary, performance, absence, grievance, absence management etc.). Generate original ideas and innovative solutions through the provision of expert knowledge and advice.
- Identify, propose, and implement developments and improvements to the area, unit, or project for the mutual benefit of TfW and Lead initiatives to improve business processes
- Identify risks within own remit, mitigate risks and provide advice to others on any risks identified, you will need a thorough understanding of associated guidelines and Employee Relations legislation to mitigate risks. In addition, lead on the day-to-day management of ET cases
- Ensure all activities are accurately logged on the case management system, and updated regularly to HRBPs, Head of HR and other key stakeholders. In addition, analyse people-related metrics, data, and trends to make recommendations to Business Partners, and interventions with people managers to address identified people issues across the business
- Stakeholder Management – Liaise with external agencies/ functions such as legal and local union representatives regarding the people issues related to procedures and policies and ensure that people managers work within the defined policy & procedures
Who we’re looking for
- Chartered Member of CIPD or equivalent
- In-depth knowledge of generalist HR best practices and up-to-date employment legislation
- Extensive experience in resolving complex casework and maintaining good employee relations
- Experience in implementing wide-reaching cultural change within an organisation
- Creative ‘can-do’ attitude, proven negotiation skills with confidence in relationship management at all levels.
