Join our team
We are looking for a Housing and Neighbourhoods Lead to join our Housing team.
If you share our values and you are motivated to make a difference for our residents, clients, and communities, we would love to hear from you.
About the role
As Housing and Neighbourhoods Lead, you will be at the forefront of delivering high-quality housing and neighbourhood services to our Council tenants.
This senior management role involves leading operational teams to ensure tenancies are well-supported, neighbourhoods are safe and thriving, and services are compliant with all relevant legislation and regulatory standards.
You will drive performance, tenant satisfaction, and continuous improvement through strategic planning, collaboration, and a strong focus on customer care.
Working closely with the Head of Housing Management, you will lead service transformation, champion tenant engagement, and ensure the Council’s housing services are inclusive, efficient, and responsive.
You will oversee compliance frameworks, manage risks, and contribute to financial planning, all while fostering a culture of respect, fairness, and accountability across teams and communities.
About you
You will be a dynamic and strategic leader with a proven track record of operating at a senior level within housing or public services.
You will hold, or be committed to achieving, a CIH Level 5 qualification in Housing or an equivalent/higher housing qualification. If not already qualified, you will be expected to enroll within 12 months of appointment.
You will also bring relevant training or experience in leadership and management, and ideally hold IOSH Managing Safely certification.
You will bring vision, resilience, and the ability to lead teams through change while maintaining a relentless focus on tenant safety, regulatory compliance, and service excellence.
With strong interpersonal and analytical skills, you will influence and inspire others, drive innovation, and ensure that tenants are at the heart of everything you do.
A full driving licence and access to a vehicle is essential due to the rural nature of our districts.
