QC Lead – Base Data – Europe
Role Overview
As a QC Lead for Base Data you will be the main point of contact for the Quality Control (QC) team within the QMS (Quality Management Systems) department. Key responsibilities include:
- Leading a team of QC checkers – line management, task assignments and project planning.
- Analytical reviews of data quality scores.
- Measuring the operation against agreed KPIs.
- Analytical reporting to Data Operations stakeholders.
You will be responsible for
- Manage a team of Quality Control checkers across all areas of Base Data (including: Fixtures, Players, Results and Standings) and across multiple different Sports (including Soccer, Rugby and Tennis).
- Fulfil line-management duties (weekly check-ins and annual performance reviews) as well as co-ordinate workload and project planning to deliver the agreed volume of quality checks for the team across all areas of Base Data.
- Work with Quality Control checkers to compile insightful monthly reports on data quality.
- Devise and deliver bespoke quality projects – both on specific request and through own initiative.
- Use Microsoft Power BI to analyse vast datasets to identify trends and problems, as well as identify areas of improvement.
- Conduct monthly presentations to Senior Data Operations stakeholders, reporting on the quality trends and key data insights affecting KPI scores across all Stats Perform Data Collection Hubs.
- Work with Quality Assurance Leaders to improve operational processes where necessary.
- Annual KPI reviews – with a focus on driving continuous improvement within Data Operations.
- Working with the QMS Manager to continuously develop and innovate Quality Control data collection methods, with a focus on tools/software to further digitalize processes.
- As well as support the QMS Manager in developing and enhancing analysis and reporting techniques.
What skills & experience you’ll bring to us
- Fluent in written and spoken English.
- Must have strong analytical skills with the ability to review complex sets of business requirements.
- In-depth knowledge of Soccer, and ideally other sports, accompanied by a genuine passion and understanding.
- Excellent communication skills within a diverse global workforce.
- Confidence in presenting to large groups of people – in-person or remotely.
- Excellent organizational and time management skills, with the ability to prioritize own activity and the activity of others to meet deadlines.
- Knowledge and experience working with Power BI.
- Exceptional Microsoft Application skills and experience (e.g. Power BI, Excel, Office 365, Teams).
- Line management experience preferred.
- Has ideally worked in the Sports Media Sector or equivalent business within the region, preferably in a global organization.
