Health & Wellbeing Practitioner – Sutton

We deliver integrated clinical and psychosocial substance misuse services across Surrey Prisons, working in close partnership with NHS healthcare providers. Our trauma-informed, gender-responsive approach ensures every service user gets the support they need on their recovery journey.
About the Role:
As a Health & Wellbeing Practitioner, you’ll be part of a multidisciplinary team delivering recovery-orientated services to women aged 18+. Working on-site at HMP Downview, Sutton, your role will involve:
- Managing a caseload with a person-centred approach
- Conducting assessments and co-producing care plans
- Delivering structured 1:1 sessions and facilitating group work
- Providing harm reduction advice and support
- Performing second signatory duties
- Supporting release planning and community reintegration
- Accurately recording data and outcomes to measure success
Requirements:
- Experience or interest in working with individuals affected by substance misuse or low-level mental health needs
- Strong commitment to trauma-informed and gender-responsive practices
- Ability to work collaboratively across prison, healthcare, and mental health teams
- Willingness to work weekends on a rota basis
- Commitment to completing the Drug and Alcohol Workforce Development Programme (DAWFDP) within 12 months
