About the role

Are you passionate about improving outcomes for children and young people with Special Educational Needs and Disabilities (SEND)? Do you want to help families understand their rights and have their voices heard?

The SEND Information, Advice and Support Service (SEND IASS) is looking for a full-time, permanent Caseworker to join our dedicated team. You will provide impartial, confidential, guidance across education, health, and social care, supporting children, young people, and families with Education Health and Care Plans (EHCPs), school placements, tribunals, and access to local services.

  • Resilience and adaptability – You can handle sensitive information, remain calm under pressure, and respond flexibly to changing circumstances.

  • SEND knowledge – A solid understanding of current SEND legislation and practices is highly desirable.

  • Professionalism and independence – You thrive in both collaborative team settings and when working autonomously.

  • Technical proficiency – You are confident using Office 365 and open to adopting digital tools.

  • Commitment to complete formal IPSEA training (Levels 1, 2, and 3) and to work in line with statutory obligations under the Children and Families Act 2014 and SEND Code of Practice guidance.
