How you’ll make a difference

As a passenger assistant, you will support vulnerable children with their travel to and from school, providing care and assistance, ensuring their journey is safe, relaxed and calm.

What you will be doing

  • It will be your responsibility to supervise the children during transportation to and from school.
  • You will assist the children on and off the vehicle, help them with seat belts and look after their general needs. 
  • It will be key for you to report any issues, making sure they are accurately relayed to parents, the school and the Integrated Transport team. 

What we need from you

  • It is essential you have experience working with children or vulnerable people.
  • We require you to have the ability to deal with children in a calm, understanding and caring manner.
  • You will have knowledge or experience in a safeguarding role, or a commitment to learn.
  • Due to the nature of the role, you must be physically able to assist children on and off the vehicle, when required.

What you need to know

  • An enhanced Disclosure and Barring Service (DBS) check is required for this post.
  • This is a variable/zero-hour post.
  • You must live in South Gloucestershire to meet at the designated pick-up and drop-off points. Clearly state your location within South Gloucestershire in your application.

 

Interviews will take place regularly during May and early June.
