Temporary Works Coordinator – Seascale
Job Description
This site based role will be working under the management of Head of Construction who is accountable for delivery of construction. The role is to manage temporary works to ensure all elements are delivered safely on time and budget, as well as compliance with all specifications. The TWC is responsible for ensuring that the contractor’s procedures for the control of temporary works are implemented on site. The TWC is responsible for ensuring that a suitable temporary works design is prepared, checked and implemented on site in accordance with the relevant drawings and specification
This will include working with a team of engineering and construction staff and all subcontractors to provide ensure that temporary design works are carried out. Applicants with nuclear licensed experience or infrastructure utilities experience are preferred. Pre-construction involvement during project development is also required
Responsibilities
- Ensure that the project’s procedures for the control of temporary works are implemented on site
- Co-oordinate TW design with TW Designers and Checkers
- Ensure that the various responsibilities have been allocated and accepted by the relevant parties (Designated Individual, TWS and Construction team etc.)
- Manage and maintain Temporary Works Register is up to date and that a design brief is prepared by the site team
- Lead on the development of Temporary Works standards solutions
- Review Temporary Design Brief and organize TW Design Kick-off with Designer when required.
- Maintain all records relating to the final design of the Temporary Works including drawings, calculations and other relevant document
- Build trust and good relationship with Construction site team and TWS
- Experience in the supervision and coordination of Temporary Works on site, ideally with an internal or external accreditation Contribute to work planning – Utilisation of production techniques and planning tools to ensure efficient management of onsite production.
- Management of on-site supervisors, engineers, labour, and subcontractors.
- Management of Health, Safety, Environment, and wellbeing on site. Including the preparation, approval, and delivery of RAMS, SSOW, permits, site inductions and briefings and a thorough understanding of safety, environmental and quality management processes, and regulations.
- Management of Risk and Opportunity and work with the team to pro-actively mitigate risks and realise opportunities.
Qualifications
Essential:
- Experience in the supervision and coordination of Temporary Works on site.
- Thorough understanding of commercial, contractual and procurement processes, including the NEC suite of contracts to enable effective delivery.
- Can demonstrate experience of being part of large-scale infrastructure programmes of work
- Expert knowledge of Costain processes
- Experience of Sellafield temporary work practices
- Hold a Degree / HND in civil/ structural engineering. A lower educational level (HNC or HND), is acceptable where a very significant level of experience in a senior technical engineering role can be demonstrated
- CITB temporary works accreditation
- Site Managers Safety training accreditation
- Understand the benefits of a production- based approach and how this can deliver differently
- Are excellent communicators who can passionately share the vision to both the team and external stakeholders
- Can work collaboratively with the team to help deliver the most holistic solutions
- Have a can-do attitude and enthusiasm to innovate and get the job done
Desirable:
- Ideally with an internal or external accreditation.
- Experience of nuclear licensed sites
