As our new Analytics Manager, you will play a pivotal role in shaping our data strategy, managing a team of talented senior data analysts, and driving the development of analytics solutions, especially in customer and marketing domains. Your primary responsibility will be to harness the power of data to extract meaningful insights, inform strategic decisions, and contribute to the overall success of the organisation using statistical techniques.

We work in a hybrid way at Saga both at home and in the office. When you do come into the office, it’ll be with a real purpose in mind – to meet with your team, to work together, and of course to socialise and celebrate too!  The team get together about once or twice a week in either London or Folkestone. You will need to be in a commutable distance.  

Role Responsibility

In this role you will manage a small team of Senior Data Analysts and will be fully accountable for the following areas;

•    Team Leadership: Provide team and technical leadership. Manage, mentor and develop a team of data analysts, provide guidance on best practices, foster high-performance culture, and ensure efficient delivery of analytical solutions.

•    End-to-End Delivery: Provide thought leadership from analytics perspective which includes end-to-end delivery by understanding the business problem, translating that to data problem, scoping, architecting, phasing and delivering solutions.

•    Business Partnering: Collaborate closely with Marketing teams to understand their challenges and design targeted analytical solutions that address key pain points. Ensure solutions are practical, impactful, and consistently achieve high adoption.

•    Data Analysis and Interpretation: Develop and Oversee the analysis of large datasets to identify trends, patterns, and actionable insights relevant to business objectives.

•    Reporting and visualisation: Develop and deliver clear and impactful reports and visualizations to communicate key findings to stakeholders. Ensure that reports and dashboards are insightful and align with business objectives.

•    Collaboration with Stakeholders: Working closely with business stakeholders and technical colleagues to understand analytical requirements and integrate insights into existing workflows & applications. Communicating effectively with both technical and non-technical counterparts.

•    Data Quality and Governance: Ensure the quality and integrity of data used for analysis, implementing and maintaining data governance best practices. Collaborate with IT and data teams to resolve data quality issues.

•    Agile ways of working: Demonstrate experience in working in an agile environment, participating in sprint planning, and adapting to changing priorities.

•    Continuous improvement: Stay abreast of industry trends, emerging technologies, and best practices in data analytics. Bring the most relevant ones back to SAGA and find ways to implement them to unlock business value.

The Ideal Candidate

You’ll be leading, supporting and developing our team of Senior Data Analysts at Saga. We would expect you can demonstrate the following skills and experience:

•    Excellent communication – Working with technical and non-technical counterparts, facilitating effective collaboration and resolution.

•    Problem Solving – Analyse complex data challenges, identify solutions and implement effective strategies across the team.

•    Project Management – Ability to manage and deliver data engineering projects on time, to high standards. 

•    Continuous Learning and Improvement – Commitment to looking at market and technology trends to stay connected with advancements in the field.

•    Ideally have Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in a relevant field such as Statistics, Economics, Mathematics, or Business Analytics.

•    Proven experience in an analytical role, with a track record of successful project delivery and team leadership.

•    Strong analytical and quantitative skills, with proficiency in statistical analysis and data visualisation tools.

•    Experience with analytics tools such as SQL, Python, R, and visualization tools like Tableau.

•    Demonstrated experience working in an agile development environment, with a focus on iterative and collaborative project delivery.

•    A curious nature, with the drive to learn and master new tech and methods.
