Salary: £49,282 – £51,356

Hours per week: 37 hours

Temporary/Fixed term: 24 months

Communications, Marketing and Events – Shaping the Council’s Vision and Reputation

We’re looking for a dynamic Communications and Engagement Business Manager to lead the communications strategy for our waste transformation programme impacting every household across the county.

This is a two-year fixed term role within our Customer and Communications team, supporting a high-profile and complex project that will shape the future of waste services in Wiltshire.

You’ll work closely with senior leaders, elected members and external partners to deliver targeted, timely and effective strategic communications and engagement. From leading campaigns and stakeholder events to anticipating reputational risk and managing media relations, you’ll use your expertise to ensure our messages reach the right audiences.

This role requires a strong background in communications, political awareness, and experience managing high-impact projects. You’ll be confident advising senior leaders, managing multiple priorities, and making quick, informed decisions.

We’re looking for someone with a degree or equivalent experience in communications, journalism or public relations, You’ll have at least five years’ experience in a communications role and a proven track record of delivering successful engagement strategies in a complex environment.
