About the role 

Do you want be part of a team that has the interests of the community at its heart? Seeking a new challenge which will see you create safer places and work to protect vulnerable people from crime? Then North Northamptonshire Council has a great opportunity for you to join us as a Safer Community Officer within the Stronger & Safer Communities Service. The Safer Communities Team works to enhance residents’ safety and well-being by addressing issues like anti-social behaviour and crime to help make North Northamptonshire a safer place to live, work and visit.

 

About you 

As the successful candidate, you will bring:

· knowledge of the Anti-Social Behaviour, Crime and Policing Act 2014, Police and The Crime and Disorder Act 1998 and the statutory guidance frameworks

· experience of preparing and reviewing evidential material and preparing case files for prosecution

· excellent organisational skills

· experience of working with a variety of stakeholders, colleagues and members of the public

· good communication skills, both written and oral

It would also be nice for you to have:

. knowledge and awareness of Housing Legislation

· experience of presenting evidence in court proceedings

Your application supporting statement must clearly demonstrate how you meet the essential and where applicable, the desirable requirements for this role as outlined in the person specification.

Where you will be working:

The team is currently based in various locations in North Northamptonshire, your main office base will be in Kettering, but the Council has a flexible working policy and supports hybrid working. The ability to travel across Northamptonshire is essential to this post. There may also be occasions where you will be required to work outside of normal office hours.
