Job Title: Cover Supervisor – Education and Early Years (Part Time, Reduced Year)
Salary: Commencing at £28,796 with progression to £30,527 per annum pro rata
About the Role
What You Will Do
- Supervise classes using pre-set work and ensure students remain engaged and on task.
- Clarify instructions and provide academic support during cover sessions.
- Record attendance and provide feedback on student progress to relevant staff.
- Support a caseload of students, including monitoring progress and offering guidance.
- Work in partnership with curriculum teams to ensure consistency in delivery.
- Adapt to cover lessons across different course levels as required.
- Participate in additional duties such as invigilation, enrichment, or pastoral support.
- Maintain a safe and respectful learning environment and attend relevant internal meetings
About You
- You MUST have knowledge and experience in the primary school or early years sector.
- You will be confident, approachable, and passionate about supporting young people to achieve their best. With strong communication skills and the ability to build positive relationships, you will engage and motivate students aged 16–19, creating a supportive and respectful learning environment.
- You will have good classroom management skills and the ability to maintain a calm, purposeful atmosphere, even when faced with challenges.
- Your organisational skills, flexibility, and ability to use your initiative will allow you to adapt quickly to changing situations.
- Experience of working with young people in an educational setting is desirable, along with a good standard of computer literacy to support lesson delivery and communication.
- You will be committed to creating a positive, inclusive classroom experience, ensuring students feel supported, safe, and encouraged to develop both their academic and personal skills.
- Above all, you will be reliable, professional, and driven to make a positive difference in the lives of our students, contributing to their success and their future pathways.
