Overview

At IRIS Software Group, we help thousands of accountants across the UK work smarter and more efficiently. From sole practitioners to large accountancy firms, our software takes care of the detail – so they can focus on what really matters: supporting their clients.

Our Accountancy Customer Services team plays a vital role in that mission. They’re the experts accountants turn to when they need help, reassurance, or practical guidance. We’re now expanding our IRIS Elements support team – and looking for friendly, motivated people with a foundation in finance, tax, or accountancy to join us.

🧾 What Is IRIS Elements?

IRIS Elements is our modern, cloud-based platform designed specifically for accountants. It brings together everything they need – from compliance and tax returns to client management and practice workflows – in one secure, easy-to-use system.

Accountants use Elements every day to prepare year-end accounts, submit tax returns, manage clients, and collaborate with their teams. When they have a question or run into an issue, you’ll be the first person they speak to.

You’ll help them understand how to use the software, guide them through solutions, and make sure their queries are resolved quickly and accurately. Your finance or accounting knowledge will help you speak their language and give advice that really makes a difference.

🌟 What Will You Be Doing?

  • Acting as the first point of contact for accountants using IRIS Elements and Accountancy Suite
  • Responding to queries via phone, email, or online chat
  • Investigating and resolving customer issues, or escalating to specialists when needed
  • Explaining processes clearly and helping customers get back to work fast
  • Logging and tracking cases to ensure timely resolution
  • Updating our internal knowledge base with useful insights or fixes
  • Meeting quality and service goals while keeping customer satisfaction high
  • Representing IRIS with professionalism, empathy, and care

You’ll be based in our Slough (Heathrow Approach) office for at least three days per week, with the flexibility to work from home on other days if you prefer. You’ll join a friendly, supportive team that works closely together, shares knowledge, and celebrates success.

🎓 What Are We Looking For?

This is a great fit for someone early in their career who already understands the basics of finance or accountancy and wants to build on that knowledge in a software-focused role.

You’ll need one of the following:

  • A degree in Finance, Accounting, Business, or a related subject
  • Experience in a finance, tax, or accountancy role
  • Current study towards an accounting qualification such as AAT

We’re also looking for people who are:

  • Clear and confident communicators
  • Naturally helpful and patient
  • Organised, with great attention to detail
  • Comfortable with Microsoft Office and learning new systems
  • Calm under pressure and able to solve problems logically
  • Keen to learn and grow in a supportive environment

Whether you’ve worked in a finance team, supported tax processes, or are finishing your studies, this is a brilliant way to combine your accounting knowledge with hands-on experience in software and customer support.

🚀 What Can IRIS Offer You?

  • Structured onboarding and full product training – you don’t need to be a tech expert to succeed
  • Clear progression routes into senior support, technical, or implementation roles
  • Hybrid working – 3 days onsite, the rest from home if you wish
  • A collaborative, supportive culture – questions are encouraged, and learning is continuous
  • Comprehensive benefits, including wellbeing support, pension, and staff discounts

Many of our senior colleagues began in this role – it’s a proven route into a long-term career at IRIS.

📝 The Application Process

We’ve designed a supportive and inclusive process to help you shine:

1️⃣ Apply Online

Send us your CV and a short application – we’re keen to hear why you’re interested in HR and what excites you about joining IRIS.

2️⃣ Online Assessments

If shortlisted, you’ll complete two short assessments that help us understand how you think and work.

  • CCAT – A quick, 15-minute timed assessment covering verbal, numerical, and logical reasoning. It’s best done somewhere quiet, with a pen and paper handy.
  • EPP – An untimed personality profile focused on your working style and approach to challenges. No right or wrong answers – just be yourself. These are widely used and designed to be fair and inclusive, helping us see beyond your CV.

3️⃣ Initial Interview

A short, friendly chat over Microsoft Teams with someone from our Talent team. It’s your chance to ask questions and learn more about the role and life at IRIS.

4️⃣ Group Assessment Day

Join us at our Slough/Heathrow Approach office (SL1 8QY) for an interactive, in-person session with other candidates on Wednesday 29 October 2025. You’ll take part in team-based activities, meet our team, and get a real feel for our culture.

If you’ve got a background in finance or accountancy and love the idea of helping professionals use industry-leading software, we’d love to meet you.
