DEGREE APPRENTICESHIP

The degree apprenticeship with University Sheffield Hallam is a 3 -year course in which you will study part time alongside your full-time role. You’ll have an initial 10-week bootcamp on campus. You will cover many modules such as Software lifecycle, System Contex, Leadership & Design approches. The degree includes a final stage project in conjunction with Capgemini’s business.

As an apprentice at Capgemini, you’ll kick off on the ‘GetINSPIRED’ programme – a week-long introduction to Capgemini and the Early & Emerging Talent community. During this first week, you will meet inspiring individuals, witness our team dynamics, and explore the stimulating projects that will influence your career. We are committed to supporting all our apprentices in developing their personal brand and exploring innovative thinking methods that will drive the solutions we deliver to our clients.

YOUR ROLE

We are looking for tech passionate individuals to want to start their career as an apprentice in the IT industry. You willbe joining large business area working for our largest UK public sector client working with inspiring expertsfrom which you can learn from and enjoy the career opportunities this brings. You will be joining a large community of Graduates and Apprentices across the business. On joining, you will be assigned to start in one of the following roles.

Insights and Data (I&D)

• Build secure, scalable data pipelines using modern tools and cloud platforms.
• Create dashboards, automate testing, and support data governance.
• Work on cloud migration, real-time streaming, and analytics solutions.

Custom Software Development (CSD)

• Develop software using popular languages and frameworks.
• Gain experience with cloud, databases, DevOps, and secure coding.
• Collaborate on public sector tech projects with agile teams.

SAP

• Configure and integrate SAP systems to meet business needs.
• Support users, test solutions, and maintain documentation.
• Continuously learn and apply SAP best practices.

YOUR PROFILE

To be eligible, you need: 

7 GCSEs including Maths and English grades 4-9 

Plus, one of the following: 

3 A*-C at A-level (NOTE: AS Levels are not included) 
Completed Advanced Apprenticeship 
BTEC (Pass, Pass, Distinction minimum) 

This role is only available to be based in our office in Telford, West Midlands. As such you will need to be based within a 60 minute commutable distance to the office, where you should expect to typically be in our Telford office 3 days a week. This specific role is not available to be based in any other UK office, but other opportunities on our website have more flexibility on locations.

YOUR SECURITY CLEARANCE

Security Check (SC) Clearance

To be successfully appointed to this role, it is a requirement to obtain Security Check (SC) clearance.

To obtain SC clearance, the successful applicant must have resided continuously within the United Kingdom for the last 5 years, along with other criteria and requirements.

Throughout the recruitment process, you will be asked questions about your security clearance eligibility such as, but not limited to, country of residence and nationality.

Some posts are restricted to sole UK Nationals for security reasons; therefore, you may be asked about your citizenship in the application process.
