About the role

We’re seeking a proactive Electrical Engineer to join our high-performing team at Reckitt in Derby. In this hands-on role, you’ll be instrumental in maintaining and optimising our high-speed packaging and production lines ensuring our products are manufactured and delivered to the highest standards of quality and efficiency. You’ll tackle technical challenges head-on, lead troubleshooting and CI activities, and take ownership of both planned and reactive maintenance. With a strong focus on safety, compliance, and performance. 

This is a 12 month fixed term position with the opportunity of extension. 

Your responsibilities

– Support and ensure lines are operating at maximum efficiency to meet production plans and quality standards

– Lead and coordinate breakdown engineering activities and deliver right-first-time repairs

– Define, plan, and execute maintenance tasks with timely and effective handovers

– Complete root cause analysis and implement preventative solutions to reduce downtime

– Log all maintenance and repair activities accurately into the CMMS system

– Drive continuous improvement of equipment performance and support new projects

– Ensure adherence to safety, hygiene, and quality standards across the work area

– Contribute to departmental R&M budget control and ensure targets are met

– Take ownership of your training plan and support team development

– Participate in internal and external audits and ensure full regulatory compliance 

The experience we're looking for

– Production line experience on high-speed packaging equipment in FMCG, food, or pharmaceutical sectors

– Trained to an Electrical minimum craft level; ONC/HND preferred

– Skilled in fault finding and developing PLC programs (Siemens S5 and S7)

– Strong knowledge of AC/DC inverter drives and electrical systems in hazardous areas (COMPEX preferred)

– 17th edition qualification advantageous but not essential

– Mechanical and pneumatic awareness with strong IT skills

– Proven ability to work independently and react quickly under pressure

– Background in delivering high performance while leading from the front

– Analytical mindset with a drive for continuous improvement

– Familiarity with GMP and KPI-focused environments
