Why this job matters
This administrator role is vital to maintaining the critical mobile communications police officers rely on to stay fully operational and connected with control centres and senior staff during live incidents across the South West police operations. As a Field Mobile Administrator, you’ll ensure devices are issued, recovered, and supported efficiently, keeping frontline teams operational and safe. Your work underpins BT’s commitment to meeting strict service levels for Devon & Cornwall Police as part of our Managed Services Contract. Your work directly contributes to delivering reliable, secure communications across the South West.
Please note: due to the nature of this role you must either hold or be eligible for SC (Security Clearance) & NPPV 3 Clearance, which will require a minimum of 5 years working history in the UK to be eligible.
What you’ll be doing
- Managing incident and request queues, ensuring all tasks are resolved within agreed SLAs and maintaining clear communication with the on-site Service Desk and wider technical teams.

Delivering the full Joiners, Movers, and Leavers (JML) process—including configuration, provisioning, recovery, and updates to backend systems—especially during bulk intakes such as Student Officers.

Fulfilling equipment and accessory requests, using tools such as KME, MS Intune, and vendor-specific platforms (EE, O2, Vodafone) to support mobile device deployment and lifecycle management.

Maintaining accurate stock records, supporting regular audits, and contributing to the evaluation of new mobile devices to ensure compliance and service readiness.

Producing and analysing monthly performance reports for Dorset and Devon & Cornwall Police, identifying trends and supporting continuous service improvements aligned with ISO20k standards.

• Competent in the use of Android-based Mobile Phones, being able to assist users in their basic operation
• Proficient in the use of KME (Knox Mobile Enrolment)
• Competent in the use MS Intune and MS Azure platforms
• Competent in the use of Vendor specific back-end systems
• Strong ability to create technical documentation in the form of knowledge-based articles

This role offers a 3 together, 2 wherever working model. This means you are required to be at your contractual location 3 days a week with 2 flexible days per week.
