Role responsibilities
As Fleet Planner, you will be responsible for all maintenance and planning associated with TfWRL Fleet where you will look to develop and maintain an effective and robust planning process which ensures that not only is the fleet maintained in accordance with the necessary periodicities, but all corrective and condition-based work is identified and planned in a manner that maximizes performance.
Responsibilities will include but not be limited to:
- Create fleet planned maintenance exam plans for all fleet types and depot locations.
- Create fleet planned, unplanned and heavy maintenance programmes for all TfW fleet types for all maintenance depots in line with vehicle maintenance instructions and heavy maintenance requirements.
- Monitor delivery of the plan, both in terms of production delivery and Unit Control’s delivery to depot. Produce KPI’s to report this performance.
- To ensure the plan is fully communicated to all parties and compliant with the VMI requirements
- Monitor unit availability variances and produce a robust plan to ensure fleet delivery is achieved during these periods. Produce KPI’s to report this performance.
- Create a fleet plan to consider mean unit availability variances. Produce KPI’s to report this performance.
- Drive performance improvements into the fleet plan to show demonstrated increase in efficiency and effectiveness of fleet.
- Produce daily fleet status reports for use throughout the TfW wider business.
- Produce availability projections to ensure long term management of the customer expectation is delivered.
- Manage projects for improving fleet availability across all depots together with seasonal work programs for all periods of the year.
Please note: There are two roles working a shift pattern of four days on fours days off to cover all days of the week (including weekends)
Who we’re looking for:
- Minimum 3 years’ relevant experience preferably on modern traction and rolling stock
- A sound knowledge in unit diagram allocation and the railways infrastructure
- Initiate day-to-day audits by Mobile Engineers of safety related repairs and maintenance
- Good understanding and experience of strategically planning taking into account real time activities, with proven experience of implementing change and strive for continuous improvement
- Good communication skills both verbal and written with an ability to lead meetings and take ownership of being point of contact for both internal and external parties
- The ability to analyse data and extract trends and statistics to focus on efficiency benefits
- Good knowledge of Microsoft office systems and computer literacy
Welsh Language Skills
The ability to speak/write Welsh would make a great addition to your application, but it is not essential for this role.
