We’re looking for a Head of Safety, Health & Environment to join our Central SHE Team, reporting to the Director of Safety, Health & Environment, while playing a key leadership role as part of the Direct to Store (DTS) Logistics Leadership Team. This is a pivotal position that shapes the strategy and culture of safety across our national logistics, warehousing and distribution operations.

You’ll lead a small, capable team, influence leaders across the logistics business, and represent Greencore with external regulators.
What you’ll be doing
  • Set strategy, inspire change – Develop and implement a forward-looking Logistics Safety Health and Environment strategy aligned with business growth and regulatory change.
  • Drive consistency and best practice – Oversee policies, systems, and governance across multiple sites to ensure safe, efficient operations.
  • Lead and coach – Build the capability of a small team and mentor colleaugues across the business to embed safety ownership and awareness.
  • Be our external voice – Engage confidently with regulators (HSE, LA, EA), acting as a trusted representative for the business.
  • Champion road risk – Collaborate with transport and logistics teams to enhance road safety, using data and insight to drive improvements.
  • Support property decisions – Lead on H&S due diligence for new and existing premises, ensuring facilities support safe operations from day one.
  • Foster engagement and trust – Build relationships at all levels, from depot teams to senior leaders, creating shared ownership for safety.
  • Be part of the Senior SHE team across the entire business , working with the business to advance the agenda and continuously improve business and risk profile.
  • Leading Greencore’s approach to on-site security
What we’re looking for
  • Proven leadership in health & safety, ideally in logistics, distribution or warehousing
  • NEBOSH Diploma or equivalent
  • Chartered Member of IOSH (or working towards)
  • Strong grasp of road risk and its wider impact on people and operations
  • Ability to translate H&S strategy into clear, actionable plans
  • Collaborative style – people listen when you speak, because you listen to them
  • Energy, resilience and a track record of driving cultural and operational change
