About the role
The Department of Culture, Media & Creative Industries (CMCI) seeks to hire a Lecturer in Contemporary Art (Education). This post will contribute to teaching, leadership and pastoral support across our expanding portfolio of courses: including BA Culture, Media & Creative Industries; MA Arts & Cultural Management, MA Cultural & Creative Industries; MA Digital Futures (online) & MA Global Media Industries. Teaching is framed around a lecture/seminar structure, and while there are some practice-based assessments, students are undertaking theoretical programs and engage with wide subject knowledges across culture, media and creative industries.

However, the exact teaching allocation will be discussed upon appointment. The post holder will also supervise undergraduate and postgraduate dissertations.
The successful candidate will hold a PhD in Culture, Media & Creative Industries with a specialism in Art History, Fine Art or the Art World (or a closely related discipline). They will be a highly effective educator, with experience of both face-to-face and online teaching and assessment in Higher Education, a commitment to student learning and welfare, and an aptitude for working within an interdisciplinary framework.
