About the Role
We are seeking a qualified librarian to join the Stock & Reader Services Team. The successful candidate will participate with team members in the selection, development and promotion of book stock to optimise its use, using analytical tools as required. You will develop and deliver reading programmes that develop readers of all ages.
A degree or postgraduate qualification in librarianship is required for this position.
The primary base for this position will be Oxford Westgate Library.
You will work alongside a team of qualified librarians and a range of library staff in branches and at Holton.
Your responsibilities will include managing both print and digital collections.
You will be required to support the customer enquiry service both in person and digitally via our Ask A Librarian Service.
The role also requires the management of collections at various branch sites across the county.
You will work with library managers and staff to maintain the collections.
You will be involved in delivering some training to staff and volunteers in maintaining stock standards or reading programmes.
You will be required to work occasionally from our Support Services at Holton, Oxford for meetings and projects.
A flexible, adaptable approach and the ability to travel are highly desirable.
This post includes the requirement to work Saturdays on a rota basis in Oxford Westgate Library.

About you
Applicants must demonstrate effective collaborative skills and work with colleagues across the service to achieve shared objectives on key projects, such as library refurbishments, and engagement activities. The ideal candidate will be able to inspire a love of reading and all that libraries have to offer our communities. They will need to focus on the positive difference libraries make, and increasing and broadening their reach.
You should have the required qualifications. You should be able to demonstrate a wider knowledge of public libraries in the UK.
