Multi skilled technician (Electrical Bias) – Bourne 


We are recruiting for a Multi-Skilled Maintenance Technician (Electrical Bias) to join the team at Enva Plastics in Bourne.


In this key role, you will be responsible for delivering effective planned preventative maintenance (PPM) and reactive breakdown repairs across plant equipment and site facilities. Your focus will be to minimise downtime, improve asset reliability, and maintain a safe working environment for all.


This is a shift-based role covering mornings, afternoons, and nights, Monday to Friday, with flexibility required in line with business needs.

 

Key Responsibilities 

  • Carry out PPM and breakdown repairs on plant machinery and supporting equipment.
  • Respond promptly to equipment faults, ensuring downtime is minimised and performance restored efficiently.
  • Diagnose root causes of faults and implement long-term corrective solutions.
  • Perform mechanical maintenance tasks such as bearing changes, belt alignment, chain and sprocket adjustments, and welding.
  • Maintain and improve building services and general facilities maintenance.
  • Ensure all work is carried out in full compliance with health & safety regulations and company policies.
  • Support asset performance improvement through continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Communicate effectively with the Maintenance Coordinator regarding critical spares and maintenance planning.

 

Skills, Knowledge and Expertise 

Essential:
  • Recognised qualifications in electrical or mechanical engineering or equivalent time-served experience.
  • Strong electrical fault-finding skills and experience with 3-phase systems.
  • Practical experience in mechanical maintenance, including motors, pumps, gearboxes, and welding.
  • Ability to interpret and work from technical drawings and electrical schematics.
  • Excellent awareness of health and safety in an industrial setting.
  • Able to work both independently and as part of a team.

Desirable:
  • Experience with PLCs, inverters, and electrical control systems.
  • Previous exposure to a manufacturing or recycling environment.
  • Additional certifications (e.g. IPAF, FLT, MEWP, PASMA, Abrasive Wheels) are an advantage.
