The Opportunity
This 12-month placement offers a starting salary of £26,750 and the chance to work at our UK Research and Development Centre in #London. You’ll contribute to research that supports the lifetime extension of our nuclear power stations and helps shape the future of low-carbon energy.
You’ll gain insight into natural hazards and environmental challenges, including meteorology, ocean sciences, space weather and climate change. You’ll build technical and non-technical skills, work with stakeholders across EDF and support projects that impact nuclear, renewables and offshore wind.
What You’ll Be Doing
During your Natural Hazards and Environment Industrial Placement, you’ll join our R&D team and apply academic knowledge to real-world challenges. Past students have worked on statistical analysis of natural hazards, liaised with clients, developed R scripts and presented their findings to internal and external audiences.
This placement offers practical learning in a collaborative environment. You’ll develop coding and report writing skills, gain exposure to technical research and connect with experts across EDF’s business units.
Your Work Location
This placement is based at our UK R&D Centre in #London (Victoria, SW1E). We offer flexible working, so you’ll have the opportunity to work remotely from time to time.
Who You Are
To be eligible for this EDF industrial placement, you need to be on track to achieve, or have already achieved, a 2:2 undergraduate or postgraduate degree in environmental and natural hazards, meteorology, ocean science, space, weather or climate change.
