About the role

The PGR Manager (PhD Operations) position is a key member of the Faculty of Natural, Mathematical & Engineering Sciences (NMES) PGR support team, offering expert advice and support, delivering an end-to-end service to both staff and students across our five departments Chemistry, Engineering, Informatics, Mathematics and Physics. 
 
The role will ensure that transparent, fair and consistent practice is applied across the NMES PGR support service, providing standard working practices, processes and templates. The role provides support to the Senior PGR Manager and oversees the work of the Senior PGR Officers to ensure the team are providing the local support our departments require, ensuing the team have the guidance and support they need and best practice is being shared and adopted. Other important responsibilities include developing and supporting initiatives to improve the student experience, monitoring supervisor training and coordinating Senior PGR Officer training and development. The role is a great opportunity for someone looking to develop their skills for the next step in their career.  
 
This is a full time post (35 hours per week), and you will be offered a fixed term contract until 09/10/2026.
 
This is a hybrid role; a minimum of 2 days a week attendance in the office is expected.
