Description: Play Strategy Development Officer
37 hour per week Salary p.a. (Essential Car User)
Temporary – Fixed Term for 2 years

This is an exciting time to join Stroud District Council’s Community Services Team as we embark on developing a comprehensive play strategy. Stroud District Council is looking for a dynamic and creative Play Strategy Development Officer to lead the development and delivery of our new Play Strategy. This is an exciting opportunity to make a lasting impact on the lives of communities across the district.
About the role
In this role you will work with internal colleagues, our communities, and key partners to support the delivery of our service and Council plan. You will be responsible for the development and delivery of the District’s Play Strategy, monitoring the project timelines and managing any work that is delegated to the community service team following community and partner engagement activities.
Our service is a forward thinking, dedicated and community focused team and the team you’ll be joining work together to provide a wide range of services within our communities. You will take the lead role in delivery of play related projects, using data and insight to inform direction and outcomes. You will also facilitate meaningful engagement with children, young people and families, working collaboratively with both internal and external partners.

About you
You’ll have experience of working in an environment that requires attention to detail, excellent communication skills and will be passionate and enthusiastic about delivering exceptional customer service whilst working under pressure. You’ll have a sound knowledge and experience of:
· Project and budget management
· Working with partner organisations and stakeholders
· You will be highly motivated and customer solution focused.
· You’ll be able to use your own initiative to solve problems.
· Experience of developing plans relating to play, physical activity or health
