About the role

We’re seeking a Project Engineer with specialized experience in coating and washing systems for OTC healthcare product manufacturing. In this role, you’ll provide technical leadership and drive capital investment projects that support factory initiatives and long-term master planning. Your expertise will help develop and implement systems that increase production capacity, improve efficiency, and enhance asset reliability—all while ensuring compliance with regulatory standards.

This position requires hands-on knowledge of tablet coating technologies and equipment cleaning processes, including their integration into oral solid dose and liquid manufacturing environments. You’ll collaborate with cross-functional teams to deliver high-quality engineering solutions that meet safety, quality, and performance goals across the full project lifecycle.

Your responsibilities

  • Leading project scope execution for coating and washing process activities with internal cross-functional teams and external sourcing service consultants/suppliers, ensuring safety, quality, schedule, and cost management throughout the full project lifecycle.
  • Managing coating and washing process design with consultants and vendors through concept, basic, and detailed design phases, and actively participating in design reviews and workshops to ensure robust and compliant system design.
  • Leading and overseeing coating and washing equipment package execution, including vendor selection, FAT, installation, SAT, IQ, OQ, and PQ, while coordinating with technical teams, internal stakeholders, and external vendors to optimize system performance and integration.
  • Leading engineering handover of coating and washing systems to production, maintenance, quality, and R&D teams, ensuring readiness and alignment across functions.
  • Supporting start-up execution of coating and washing systems, including OQ/PQ, SOP development, preventive maintenance setup, and QMS integration.
  • Supporting project documentation control to ensure GDP (Good Documentation Practice) standards are applied across coating and washing scope.
  • Ensuring coating and washing systems meet all relevant regulatory requirements, including company standards, FDA regulations, and state/federal EHS compliance.
  • Preparing project budgets and cash flow projections for coating and washing scope.
  • Creating detailed project implementation timelines, including milestones and schedules specific to coating and washing system delivery.
  • Potentially managing up to 1–2 direct reports to coach, support, and direct delivery of CapEx projects related to coating and washing systems.
  • Managing multiple capital projects of varying scale, leading cross-functional teams to generate documentation including drawing packages, equipment specifications, URS, bid packages, and qualification protocols for coating and washing systems.
  • Scheduling and conducting regular project meetings to communicate status, plan activities, and provide updates to stakeholders on coating and washing system progress, risks, and issue resolution.
  • Overseeing contractors and field installation for coating and washing equipment, ensuring workmanship and equipment meet corporate standards and project requirements, and maintaining operational integrity through start-up and commissioning.

The experience we're looking for

  • Minimum of Bachelor’s in Engineering (Chemical, Mechanical, Civil or Electrical) or suitable experience in lieu of formal qualification.
  • 8+ years relevant engineering experience in pharmaceutical, healthcare or food and beverage industries (must include 3+ years of capital project management).
  • Demonstrate an expert understanding of engineering theoretical fundamentals of equipment operation, and demonstrate full use of advanced principles, theories, concepts and techniques in creative and novel ways to solve complex technical problems.
  • Strong Responsibility and target implementation capability.
  • Well versed with Microsoft Excel/Word/Power Point & Project.
  • Prior experience of working with factory daily operation or maintenance or project engineering.
  • Strong Organizing ability and Easy-going communication skills
  • Engineering background is preferred. Capability on AutoCAD skills is also preferred.
  • Experience knowledge on OSD factory or Liquid factory or warehouse logistic activities including pre-treatment mixing/compounding activities to filling & packing activities is preferred.
  • Project Management Coordination: Basic understanding of the project execution lifecycle and target focus action ability. Proven Experience in coordination/communication with different teams.
  • Experience Knowledge on hygiene and validation is preferred

Salary Range

USD $88,000.00 –  $132,000.00

Pay Transparency

The base salary range for this role will vary based on experience in job and industry, training and education, skills relevant to the position, and other factors permitted by law.
