About the role

As part of the Global Packaging Team, this role is responsible for the procurement strategy of Laminates, sleeves and labels in North America.

This position oversees a total spend of $ 56 M and has one direct report. The main responsibilities are the development and execution of category, sourcing and supplier management strategies to achieve competitive advantage through lowest purchase cost and value improvements.

 

This role is not currently sponsoring visas or considering international movement at this time.

Your responsibilities

  • Develop and execute the optimal strategy that delivers business objectives.
  • Deliver results in key performance areas: cost management, financial forecast, NWC, service and quality, process improvements and innovation.
  • Have full financial accountability for the category: Plan, Forecast, PPV, NWC, prices compliance.
  • Support innovation implementations in the category while securing a resilient supply chain.
  • Manage and develop strategic supplier relationships.
  • Develop Commodity Risk Management strategy aligned with key stakeholders.
  • Develop and implement sustainability strategy in collaboration with Sustainability group.
  • Lead and develop direct reports and be an active player within the global team.
  • Lead the global strategy for Sleeves in alignment with other factories.

The experience we're looking for

  • Bachelor/master’s degree in business, science/engineering, supply chain or equivalent.
  • 7+ years of Procurement or Supply experience, preferably in FMCG.
  • Proven track record in handling complex portfolios.
  • Ability to travel within Europe.
  • Fluent oral and written English.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook, and Access).
  • Multi-tasking and time-management skills, with the ability to prioritize tasks.

  • Identifies, prepares and briefs upstream the key stakeholders required for the negotiation to succeed.
  • Anticipates potential deadlock and adapts the negotiation style to in-flight changes of circumstances.             

Supplier management

  • Segments the supplier base, creates and evolves the vendor management approach and strategy accordingly.
  • Creates, nurtures and continuously improves healthy and appropriate relationships with the supplier base.
  • Drives technological and/or digital innovation agenda in cooperation with suppliers.
  • Measure and improve supplier capabilities to ensure an efficient flow, quality and sustainability of product to meet service requirements.             

Category management              

  • Use relevant insights to turn opportunities into concrete short, medium and long term action plans.
  • Formulates actionable and ambitious strategies based on deep business acumen with an E2E approach.
  • Create, implement, and manage category plans based on business needs and supply market capabilities             

Legal acumen  

  • Highly qualified to handle extensive contracts with a large spend at stake and multiple supply and quality clauses.
