We are seeking a highly motivated and technically skilled Maintenance Technician to join our dynamic manufacturing team. This role is essential to ensuring the reliability, efficiency, and safety of our production operations through expert troubleshooting, preventative maintenance, and continuous improvement initiatives. The ideal candidate will bring a proactive approach to equipment repair and diagnostics, a strong understanding of process control systems, and hands-on experience with PdM technologies. In this role, you will play a key part in minimizing downtime, supporting new equipment installations, and driving operational excellence—all while upholding the highest standards of safety, GMP compliance, and teamwork. 

About the role

Principal Functions:

  • Execute with a high level of accuracy and attention to detail all work orders (PM, PDM, Corrective, and Emergency Work) at the direction of Maintenance and Operations Supervision
  • Understand and utilize PdM Technologies (Lubrication, Ultrasonic, Thermography, and Vibration Analysis) to condition monitor and predict equipment failures in a proactive maintenance environment
  • Troubleshoot, repair, and provide continuous improvement for Nutritional Processing and/or Packaging equipment involving mechanical or electrical components

Your responsibilities

  • Maintain a positive attitude in all work situations
  • Hold the safety of themselves and others they work with in top regard
  • Perform PdM Routes using PdM Technologies (Thermography, Ultrasonic, Vibration Analysis)
  • Perform equipment calibrations
  • Troubleshoot and repair Process Control Systems
  • Troubleshoot and repair packaging equipment
  • Troubleshoot and repair processing equipment
  • Assist manufacturing representatives, Project Engineering, Contract Engineering, and departmental personnel on new equipment installation
  • Set up parts in the Tool Room on new equipment installations
  • Provide on-the-job training for operator and maintenance trainees
  • Modify existing equipment and identify alternative measures for correcting or improving control systems
  • Must be able to follow and maintain detailed repair procedures and have good communication skills
  • Inspect, operate and test machinery or equipment to diagnose machine malfunctions. Provide support for root cause analysis so long term corrective actions can be put in place to prevent reoccurrence
  • Evaluate and modify control software, update prints and program discs
  • Calibrate, program, troubleshoot, repair and adjust programmable logic controllers, limit switches, motor controllers, and other electronic/electrical production related equipment
  • Perform analysis of circuits, wiring, diagrams, and specifications to install, repair, service or replace electronic devices
  • Maintain complete records of work performed using CMMS and detailed work/equipment logs
  • Be in compliance with procedure reviews
  • Perform work according to all applicable GMP, safety, and environmental regulations
  • Contact manufacturers’ service technicians, when necessary for assistance in repair or replacement of faulty equipment
  • Ability to balance priorities while performing work according to all applicable GMP environmental regulations
  • Timely diagnosis and repair of equipment to minimize production downtime
  • Ability to quickly escalate and communicate equipment issues to others for additional support and resources
  • Use CI Tools such as 5 Why for root cause analysis and problem solving 
  • Other duties as assigned

The experience we're looking for

  • Have one (1) of the following:
    • Have a two-year Associate Degree in Electronics Technology (or equivalent), plus at least one (1) year of experience
    • Have completed a certified electronics technology (or equivalent) apprenticeship program plus at least two (2) years experience
    • Have a minimum of five (5) years of industrial electronics maintenance experience
  • Possess strong team-oriented skills and excellent interpersonal skills
  • Be a self-starter, be able to work effectively with minimal supervision, and good organizational and planning skills
  • Be willing to learn new job-related skills and have good troubleshooting and analytical skills
