Job Introduction

Are you looking to start your actuarial career in a place that values growth, teamwork, and purpose? We’re hiring a Reserving Actuarial Analyst to join our collaborative actuarial team. This is an excellent opportunity for someone early in their career or a new graduate who’s eager to learn, develop, and make a meaningful contribution.

You’ll support reserving analysis, learn to implement actuarial models, and communicate insights clearly – working closely with both technical and non-technical colleagues.

Role Responsibility

As our new Reserving Actuarial Analyst you will:

  • Support the bi-annual valuation of reserving provisions and contribute to financial reporting.
  • Assist in the quarterly booking of reserves and ad-hoc reserving analyses.
  • Prepare and maintain actuarial models, ensuring accuracy and compliance with relevant policies and standards.
  • Monitor actual versus expected experience and identify key areas for further investigation.
  • Collaborate closely with internal teams and communicate actuarial insights clearly to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
  • Take ownership of your professional development and stay up to date with actuarial best practices and regulatory requirements.
  • Ensure the quality and integrity of data used in reserving processes, reconciling data from multiple sources.
  • Support actuarial governance activities, including preparation for the Reserving Committee and related meetings.
  • Proactively identify opportunities to improve reserving methodologies and tools.
  • Work effectively as part of a team, contributing positively to a supportive and engaging work environment.

The Ideal Candidate

We are looking for:

  • Strong numerical ability with a logical and curious mindset; a passion for problem-solving and continuous learning.
  • A 2:1 or above in a numerate degree.
  • Experience or strong interest in working within an actuarial team environment.
  • Genuine enthusiasm for becoming an actuary and developing a career in reserving.
  • Proactive self-starter with excellent communication skills, able to explain ideas clearly to technical and non-technical colleagues.
  • Team player who collaborates well and supports others; excellent Excel skills and eagerness to learn coding tools (e.g., VBA, SQL).
  • Attention to detail with the ability to manage data effectively.
  • Knowledge of medical insurance/indemnity and reserving experience or interest is a plus but not essential.

We welcome applicants from all backgrounds, and we encourage you to apply even if you feel you do not match 100% of the technical requirements. We celebrate diversity, promote inclusivity and strive to create a work environment which ensures everyone can be heard.

In return, we can offer you:
