This is a permanent role, working 37.5 hours per week at our Touchbase Pears Basecamp based in Selly Oak, Birmingham. You will join a great team at our day service which offers a lovely warm and caring atmosphere.
Basecamp is for a diverse range of young adults with complex disabilities. Everyone is different, but many of the people that we support have: Sight and hearing impairments or a combination of other challenges, including learning disabilities, physical disabilities, or autism.
As a Support Worker, you will support our individuals take part in a wide range of special interests and activities that support their health and wellbeing. They all enjoy being outdoors and engaging in physical activities. The activities range from arts and wellbeing activities.
You will be working on a 1:1 basis and will follow activity schedules, using resources within Basecamp, as well as enabling service users to access the local community.
The Day Service is open Monday- Friday and the timings are as follows: 08:30am-05:00pm.
Does this sound right for you?
- Experience of using British Sign Language (BSL) or having a BSL or Makaton qualification is desirable (or willingness to learn).
- A full UK Manual Driving license and the willingness to learn and to drive our company minibus is desirable.
