What we need from you…

Reporting into the VP of Content, Japan, the Commercial Manager – Japan is responsible for achieving revenue targets through the distribution of Stats Perform content products and the management of key client relationships to identify new business, appropriate up-sells and renewals.Ā 

Initially, the key challenge for this role will be deeply understanding Stats Perform products and their benefits for clients and industry sectors. Eventually, the key challenge for this role is to balance the day-to-day aspects of the job (such as client queries, preparing sales proposals, and working closely with internal stakeholders) with the continuing need to focus on winning new business.

This role will work closely with the VP of Content Japan and with other members of Stats Perform APAC commercial team.

Client Relationship Management

  • Develop strong and mutually beneficial relationships with existing and potential clients, including publishers, media groups, broadcasters, professional clubs, and media agencies
  • Develop and present proposals and pricing for Stats Perform’s product portfolio to all potential licensees and syndication partnersĀ 
  • Maintain proactive and ongoing client dialogue, acting as the point of escalation to promptly resolve issues and follow up on queries and leads.

Operational & Product Effectiveness

  • Prepare, monitor and report on budget/pipeline forecasts appropriately prioritising growth targets
  • Develop and implement plans to ensure the overall success of financial and non-financial KPIsĀ 
  • Assist Commercial team with preparation of commercial proposals and updating internal commercial sales collateral
  • Monitor current market landscape, trends and competitor activity and report to VP of Content, Japan and EVP of Content, APAC as requiredĀ 

Do you have these essentials?

  • Expertise in revenue generation & account management in a commercial sales role (min 3 – 5 years). Digital Media and Business Development experience in sport will be viewed favourably
  • Experience managing a sales pipeline with demonstrable strategies employed to deliver success
  • Solid understanding of digital media players, their commercial models and revenue drivers
  • Well-developed communication skills, including written, oral, email, telephone, and in making compelling presentationsĀ
