Yield Pricing Business Analyst

We are seeking a highly analytical and commercially minded Yield Analyst to join our growing commercial team. You will play a pivotal role in analysing ticketing, retail, and sales data to optimise yield, drive demand, and support revenue growth across our network. This role is ideal for someone who thrives on data-driven decision making, loves digging into complex datasets, and can translate insights into actionable strategies.

What you’ll be doing

• Analyse revenue performance across multiple data sources: station and gate systems, train guard ticketing, web sales, PAYG systems, and third-party retailers.

• Build and optimise dynamic pricing strategies to maximise yield and demand.

• Develop new Advance fare bands and identify fare opportunities that balance customer value with revenue growth.

• Review methodologies, test hypotheses, and generate actionable insights from complex datasets.

• Monitor pricing performance and formulate remedial actions where yield issues arise.

• Collaborate with internal teams (fares, retail, commercial, and revenue) to deliver data-led pricing initiatives.

• Present findings, recommendations, and progress updates to stakeholders in a clear, commercially grounded manner.

What you’ll bring

• A degree in Business, Finance, Mathematics, Accountancy or a similar analytical discipline.

• Proven experience in revenue analysis or pricing optimisation — ideally within transport, travel, aviation, or a similar industry.

• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to translate data into commercial actions.

• High proficiency in Excel and confidence using data visualisation or analytics tools.

• Strong stakeholder management and communication skills — able to influence, explain insights, and collaborate effectively.

• A proactive mindset with the ability to continuously improve pricing processes and challenge existing assumptions.
